In partnership with Edu-Connect Southeast Asia Association and the CLRG - Center for Local and Regional Governance, we organized the Philippine Delegation to attend the Kaohsiung Smart City Summit & Expo (KSCSE) 2025 on March 20. This annual event, held in two parts—first in Taipei and then in Kaohsiung—spotlights cutting-edge smart city innovations, digital governance, and net-zero strategies shaping the future of urban development.
The event was officially opened by Kaohsiung Deputy Mayor Charles Lin, a long-time advocate for stronger Philippines-Taiwan cooperation, especially in local governance. A special message was also delivered by Asus CEO Samson Hu, underscoring the role of technology in building smarter, more sustainable cities.
With Kaohsiung leading advancements in green innovation, industrial transformation, and smart city solutions, the delegation engaged with city officials, industry leaders, and urban planners to explore how real-time data integration, digital infrastructure, and sustainable policies can be applied within Philippine governance frameworks. These insights are essential as Philippine cities strive to enhance urban resilience, improve public services, and drive sustainable growth.
As urban landscapes rapidly evolve, staying informed on emerging technologies, sustainable infrastructure, and data-driven governance is key to shaping the future of Philippine cities. KSCSE 2025 provided a firsthand look at the latest innovations transforming modern urban centers, offering valuable insights that can help cities navigate the challenges of smart and sustainable development.
Special thanks to the Kaohsiung Project Management Office (KPMO) of the Kaohsiung City Government for facilitating our participation in KSCSE 2025 and giving us the opportunity to gain firsthand insights into Kaohsiung’s cutting-edge smart city initiatives.
Until next time!
