The Daniel Institute of Public Affairs Praxis delegation visited the Asian Development Bank (ADB) headquarters in the Philippines for an informative session on ADB’s background and its Public Sector Management and Governance, hosted by ADB specialists Ms. Chia-Hsin Hu and Mr. Matthew Hodge. ADB speakers provided an overview of its institutional structure, operational priorities, and policy reform initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region which focuses on its role in strengthening public sector management and governance.
The session highlighted ADB’s approach to policy dialogue and capacity-building, particularly in areas such as fiscal transparency, institutional accountability, and service delivery. The Delegates gained informative insights into how ADB supports governments in designing and implementing reforms that promote effective, responsive, and resilient public institutions through the discussion and q&a session — emphasizing the importance of cross-sector collaboration.
Asian Development Bank (ADB) which is headquartered in Mandaluyong, Metro Manila, provides a strategic partnership to governments across the region and helps translate development goals into actionable programs and sector development. Most importantly, ADB offers a unique vantage point and it is a place where policy frameworks are not only debated on but rather operationalized through financing, technical assistance, and regional cooperation.
